Search Engine Optimization Resources and links

Search engine optimization comes second nature to me, but for many people trying to do it on their own, it is a nightmare, having to wait, try again, wait, try again, is not most marketers idea of fun. The links below should help you understand more about search engines and how they work.

  • Search Engine Watch - The source for search engine information, period. Danny Sullivan is the main man when it comes to search engines, and a nice person in general (met him twice). Danny Sullivans' conferences are good too.
  • Search Engine Forums - A message board of search engine optimization specialists, be careful what you believe here, but this is a good location you should go to get information about how to optimize your site.
  • Overture Keyword Query Tool - Where I go to see the popularity of various terms in the search engines.
  • Don't know what version of a word to use; website or web site? Use this link
  • Analyze your link popularity
  • Alexa.com will give you some great data on the traffic your web site receives (while you are there, check your competition too).
  • MarketLeap Search Engine Saturation - Ever wanted to know how many of your pages were actually in the search engines? Here's the answer.
  • Search Engine Blog - Keep up to date with one guy's perspective.
